Latest Projects

The railway line is a vital link between communities on the borders of England and Wales and the partnership will develop and support several green initiatives.

The partnership will encourage volunteering for all ages; supporting friends of groups, school and youth groups to look after and make local stations greener and more accessible.

Timeless Tracks

The Timeless Tracks Project is a collaboration with the 3 Counties Connected Community Rail Partnership and Minera Community Agent and Minera to engage the local over 50s community of Minera, capturing their personal memories of the mineral railways that once crossed their area. This project has been kindly funded by Transport for Wales.

'Hiraeth' - Phase 2 of the Wrexham Station Art Project

Our project, ‘Hiraeth – Belonging Across Borders’, builds on the success of the Wrexham Station Art Project, collaborating with artist Sophia Leadill, a local refugee group, The Wallich, KIM Inspire and Housing Justice.

Tourism Connect

Through collaboration with local stakeholders, Tourism Connect aims to promote and encourage sustainable tourism and travel within the Wales and Borders region.

Wrexham Station Art

The 3 Counties Connected Wrexham Station Art Project started in April 2023 with the aim of enhancing the appearance of Wrexham railway station to make it more welcoming for the local community and for travellers.

175th Anniversary Celebrations

The 3 Counties Connected Community Rail Partnership organised a series of events to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the railway line that runs from Chester to Shrewsbury.

The Stitching History Project seeks to engage with a group of residents from an industrial setting that has faced significant economic challenges since the decline of the steel industry in 1991.

3 Counties Connected worked in partnership to deliver heritage craft classes that explored the potential of creating a heritage themed trail linking Llangollen through to Shrewsbury.
