Community Rail Partnership looking to appoint new chairperson

We’re look for someone who has the enthusiasm and drive to support the partnership, can effectively set the agenda and chair steering group meetings and is able to work with all partners to ensure the continued success of the partnership.
The 3 Counties Connected Community Rail Partnership aims to develop and promote the Chester/ Wrexham /Shrewsbury/ Crewe Railway line as a green railway line with a high level of community involvement, with attractive station facilities, excellent co-ordination with other forms of transport and as a service that meets the needs of local people and of visitors, and in so doing provides value for money for passengers.
Karen Balmer, CEO for Groundwork North Wales who is currently interim chair said of the role: “I’ve greatly enjoyed working with the 3 Counties Connected Partnership. They are a very passionate about local communities and supporting them and championing sustainable tourism and travel”.
Mel Lawton, Community Rail Manager (North), said: “Karen has been a wonderful ambassador and leader of the Board and has been a great support to the partnership.

Applications are invited from individuals with suitable experience who can bring their own ideas, energy, and passion to the Partnership. The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable but not essential.
